Why We Give

At Grace UMC, we believe that all we have is a gift from God and that returning a portion of our income to God is an act of worship. It is an expression of your love for God and a step of faith.

Ways to Give

Your financial support and generosity resource the ministries and the missions of Grace United Methodist Church.

  • Electronic giving is secure, quick and easy.
  • One-time gifts are simple to set up using a debit or credit card, or from a bank account.
  • Recurring gifts can be set up on a schedule that works for you, and provide flexibility to track and manage your giving. By setting up a bank transfer, you will save the church approximately 3% compared to credit card fees. We discourage the use of credit cards if you will incur debt in the process.
  • Appreciated stock or qualified charitable distributions are also giving options. Contact the Finance Department for more information.
  • Memorial Giving – Memorial giving is a meaningful way to remember loved ones. Memorial gifts can make a difference now.
  • Legacy Giving – The Grace Foundation provides a purposeful way to support the future mission of Grace and make a lasting impact on the church’s ministry and mission.  Let us know if you plan to include the Grace UMC Foundation in your will, so we can thank you in your lifetime.

For questions or help with your financial giving, please email finance@spencergumc.com or call Sandy at 712-262-5970.

Stewardship

As Christians, we recognize that everything we have belongs to God, and we are simply managing those resources while on earth. Through our giving, we are the heart, spirit and hands of God, reaching out in love to share with the world.

Ministry

Annual giving, tithes and offerings make mission and ministry possible at Grace. Your gifts provide life-changing worship, opportunities for all ages to learn and grow in faith, pastoral care and support, building and operational needs, and mission ministries that are transforming our community and world.

Missions

Grace UMC supports many local, national and international missions.

Commitment

Supporting the church financially is one of the expectations of membership at Grace. While we don’t tell you how much you should give, our hope is that you are giving regularly and working toward the tithe–identified in the Bible as 10% of your income. Annual commitments help the church budget, plan and expand ministry in the coming year.
