Grace United Methodist Church Launches Free “Grace Kidz 2.0” Afterschool Program

SPENCER, Iowa — Grace United Methodist Church is excited to announce Grace Kidz 2.0, a new FREE Wednesday afterschool program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade, beginning Wednesday, October 7.

Grace Kidz 2.0 will meet each Wednesday from 3:45–5:30 p.m. and will provide children with a safe, welcoming place to spend their afternoon while enjoying snacks, games, crafts, activities, friendship and faith-based fun.

The program is centered around a simple mission: “Nurturing God’s Grace in the Children of Our Community.”

To help make the program accessible to local families, the school district will provide transportation to the Clay County Administration Building. Grace United Methodist Church volunteers will meet participating children at the bus stop and safely escort them to the church.

At 5:30 p.m., families are invited to join their children for a free meal, served until 6:00 p.m. The meal gives families an opportunity to gather together while also making busy Wednesday evenings a little easier.

There is no cost to participate in Grace Kidz 2.0, but advance registration is required.

Grace United Methodist Church welcomes families throughout the Spencer community to take part. Children and families do not need to be members of Grace United Methodist Church to participate.
