Grace United Methodist Church, Spencer, IA is seeking a part-time paid Director of Music Ministries who feels called by Christ to serve the community through Grace.  We’re seeking that person with musical and spiritual gifts, and theological depth, to utilize traditional and “contemporary” genres to enhance worship and deepen participants' faith.   Many resources for creativity!  Contact: or 712-262-5970 for more information and/or application.

We welcome you to walk through a guided Journey to Bethlehem at Grace United Methodist Church this December 9 & 10, from 2 PM to 5 PM each afternoon.  This is a FREE event.  Come hear the sounds of animals, the smell of bread baking, and the many conversations of our Massiah's birth.  Come see for yourself... The Journey awaits.

Wesely Self-Examination Questions
Wesely Self-Examination Questions

John Wesley had 22

SELF-EXAMINATION questions that members of the Holy Club were expected to ask themselves every day in their private devotions.  Here’s a sampling; perhaps you may use them in your private devotions??

· Am I consciously or unconsciously creating the impression that I am better than I really am?

· Am I honest in all my acts and words; do I exaggerate?

· Do I confidentially pass on to another what was told to me in confidence?

· Can I be trusted?

· Am I a slave to dress, friends, work or habits?

· Am I self-conscious, self-pitying, or self-justifying?

· Did the Bible live in me today?

· Do I give it time to speak to me every day?

· Am I enjoying prayer?

· When did I last speak to someone else of my faith?

· Do I pray about the money I spend?

· Do I get to bed on time and get up on time?

· Do I disobey God in anything?

· Do I insist upon doing something about which my conscience is uneasy?

· Am I defeated in any part of my life?

· Am I jealous, impure, critical, irritable, touchy or distrustful?

· How do I spend my spare time?

· Am I proud?

· Do I thank God that I am not as other people, especially as the Pharisees who despised the publican?

· Is there anyone whom I fear, dislike, disown, criticize, hold a resentment toward or disregard?  If so, what am I doing about it?

· Do I grumble or complain constantly?

· Is Christ real to me?

We welcome you to listen to our sermons each week.  May the Lord bless your time with Him.

Food Pantry Collection

We are not all blessed to have an abundance of food in our cupboards. Some of our friends and families have a hard time making ends meet. We ask if you are blessed in your life with having food whenever you feel like eating could you spare one or more items of non-parishable food to donate to our food pantry? If you can please bring it with you to church on Sunday and place in our pantry or you can bring it to the church office. Thank you for reaching out to those in need. May you be blessed for extending His love through your actions.
